Why go to Taghazout

People come for the waves, but stay for the mood: cafés with sea views, yoga on rooftops, fresh fish and long sunsets. The village is small enough to walk everywhere, and Tamraght, the next village south, is just a few kilometres away with more surf houses and quieter beaches.

It is also a good base for nature: the dunes of Timlalin are close by, and Paradise Valley is reachable by road into the hills.

Surf spots in and around Taghazout

For experienced surfers: the long right-hand point breaks north of the village, such as Anchor Point and Killer Point, are famous when the winter swell arrives.

For beginners: learn on the softer beach breaks around Tamraght, Devil's Rock and Imourane, with a surf school. Lessons include the board and wetsuit.

Waves are biggest from October to March. Summer is smaller and better for learning. See the best time to visit.
